Production Controller/Mac Operator:

Hardworking, enthusiastic, mac-literate Production professional with at least five years' experience of book publishing with the following: Knowledge of printers, their machines, production and paper costs. An enthusiasm for figures, including budgets and negotiating. Background in 4-colour reproduction and printing. Understanding of digital photography and its applications in production process. Applications of information technology to production. Excellent knowledge of making illustrated books  Confident in IT and a variety of programs. Good administrative skills.  An uncompromising attitude to schedules. Ability to see the ‘big picture’ whilst also relishing the detail of illustrated books. Professional approach to production work and the company.






 


Senior Managing Editor

This is a hands-on position, which will be both challenging and rewarding for the right candidate. At least 10 years experience in all stages of illustrated book development and familiarity with the editorial process for English language co-editions is required. The post will involve the editorial day-to-day management of titles from concept to print. You will have excellent copy-editing, time management and communication skills. You will in addition be responsible for co-ordinating the work of the in-house copy-editor and that of freelance editors. Apple Mac and general computer skills, particularly Quark Xpress and Word, are essential.



Senior Book Designer

Minimum 6 years experience. Able to oversee titles from concept to print and manage a team of freelance designers, illustrators and photographers.



Receptionist/Office Administrator

The position entails general administration, providing sales support to our International Sales Director, general admin support to our busy staff, and ensuring careful management of the company’s database systems. An excellent entry point into publishing for a self starter with good interpersonal skills.

Foreign Rights Manager

The Foreign Rights Manager will be responsive to clients, an excellent negotiator, and responsible for setting sales strategy and budgets, as well as all aspects of our foreign rights sales. The FRM will travel to book fairs and to the markets. At least one foreign language is a must. Ideal for someone with who is currently selling rights in one or more territories and wants to progress.
